This blog is from the web master of the SSRG at www.sierrasquatch.net. Our group is a small and diverse from different walks of life. We share a common interest in the mystery of the Bigfoot (Sasquatch) species. Our primary research area has been along the US 50 corridor east of Placerville to the west border of Lake Tahoe up CA Hwy 89.
However, with the addition of Brad Flom and his group we are adding a research area to the Northwest of Lake Tahoe not far from Truckee CA. Brad Flom has had encounters and a close encounter within his research area as well as several findings of physical evidence of the species.
Our technical researcher, Bob Boston, has had a number of BF experiences within the research area. On August 20, 2005 Bob had a close encounter with a Sasquatch we call Maxine. His account is on our site under the title Encounter in the Desolation Wilderness and is in first person as an actual event. Bob won't be an active researcher in the future due to personal reasons.
These type of encounters are quite frightening. The victim usually suffers from a severe case of PTSD much like combat veterans. This view is reported by Dr. Matthew Johnson who had a close encounter of his own in July 2000. Our site contains a link to his published paper on this subject.
Our group accepts the existence of the Bigfoot species and uses Professor Jeff Meldrum's book, Sasquatch, Legend Meets Science as our standard for evidence. We publish most evidence and information we find on our site hoping others will follow our lead.
